How Hoodia Gordonii Works | The botanical name for Hoodia is Hoodia gordonii. This leafless spiky succulent plant is found growing throughout the semi-arid areas of Southern Africa in the Kalahari Desert. The local inhabitants (The San) have known about the amazing effect of this plant for hundreds of years using the stems to control and stop hunger and thirst on long journeys that were often taken. Indeed the San use of Hoodia is a powerful example of the incredible appetite suppressant properties of Hoodia.
Several years of painstaking research by scientists have revealed the all important compound that is responsible for dramatic weight loss in this all natural food, P57. This compound has been shown to significantly reduce weight, body fat and caloric intake with no adverse side effects. Unlike many other weight loss products Hoodia contains no stimulants and does not create any jittery feeling associated with many other weight loss products on the market.
Hoodia has been made a protected species to safe guard against Bio Piracy. However, this invaluable plant is allowed to be grown on a very select few private commercial farms in South Africa. Hoodia normally take 5-6 years to mature in the wild however improvements in commercial cultivation have reduced this time to under two years.
To legally export Hoodia to the USA and other countries, all Hoodia farmers must obtain a C.I.T.E.S. certificate to operate in accordance with all local laws.
How does Hoodia Formula™ work?
The active ingredient, P57 in Hoodia Formula ™ directly affects the satiety center of the brain causing a chemical compound very similar to glucose however up 100,000 times more powerful. This compound sends a message directly to the hypothalamus, (the particular part of the brain responsible for food intake) signaling that enough food has been consumed and in turn suppressing appetite. Basically Hoodia Formula ™ tricks the brain into thinking it full and even stops you think about food! | | Research and Clinical Studies on Hoodia.
Proof from the San Bushmen of South Africa
The San Bushmen of South Africa have been ingesting Hoodia Gordonii for thousands of years to cub hunger during long hunting trips that were necessary for their very survival. The San bushman did not of course conduct clinical studies, however, they will tell you without hesitation that Hoodia Gordonii works! It is simply a fact of life for them, proved by thousands of years of real time evidence.
Clinical studies performed by Phytopharm with Hoodia P57 | A double-blind placebo-controlled clinical test was performed by Phytopharm on overweight volunteers, using the all important compound found in Hoodia Gordonii, P57. The volunteers were separated into two groups, one was given a P57 and other a placebo. Both groups were instructed to keep their normal eating and excise habits and the result were as follows:
The P57 group compared to the Placebo group: | | | | | » | There was a statistically significant reduction in caloric intake in the P57 group | | » | Body Fat levels were significantly lowered in the P57 group. | | » | No adverse side effects were reported in the P57 group | | » | Within the P57 Group the average calorie intake was 10000 calories less than the control group. These results our significant when you bear in mind that the average man consumes around 2,600 calories a day and a woman about 1,900 | | |
| | Research on Hoodia Gordonii, at the Brown University Medical School | A 2004 study conducted by Brown University Medical School "Zucker Rats", (Zucker Rats are special rats bred to be obese and diabetic), were given Hoodia Gordonii, incredibly the Zucker Rats that were given Hoodia lost weight and even revered signs of diabetes, a major breakthrough as rats in general that are given unlimited food will not lower calorie intake or lose weight. |
